We’ve all heard of Zenith before. They are mainly known for producing one of the best chronograph movements of all time, the ‘El Primero’. So even though this is not an ‘El Primero’, we can safely say that this watch will not let anyone down.
There is just very little to dislike about this watch. The black gilt dial, the simple lines and aesthetic and the refinement of the lugs. Not only that, this watch is big, oversized and perfect for all of you who like bigger watches while maintaining the vintage feel. It’s 37mm, and yes, we’re not counting the crown or the pushers.
The movement is one of the cleanest we have seen. It’s an in-house 146HP that allows us to record not only minutes but also hours (up to 12). The dial doens’t disappoints either: a ‘reverse panda’ with gilt lettering and gold subdials and thick and untouched tritium lume plots. And yes, it comes with the original buckle.
The case has wear on the gold filling (not plating!), noticeable specially on the lugs. That being said, that’s only observable if you really look into it, those imperfections aren’t noticeable on your wrist.
If that hasn’t conviced you, just look at the price. It doesn’t get more classic, elegant and tooly than this.
