The LIP Nautic-Ski electronic was the LIP’s signature product for many years. The production of this model started in 1938 (firstly fitted with automatic calibers) and lasted until the 1970’s, although from the 1960’s they were fitted with the LIP caliber R184 (an electro-mechanical movement that made the watch have a modern feel while maintaining the balance wheel and other components from a mechanical caliber). In particular, this caliber beats at 18000bpm with a normal balance wheel, impulsed by an induced magnetic field generated by an electrical pulse contact and a solenoid. To prevent the electrical arc at the contact, LIP included a diode and called its caliber “electronic” retaining the flash as a logo (source: WUS, member: Marc_WL).
The movement has been recently overhauled and fitted with new gaskets and battery, we offer a 3 month warranty from the date of purchase.
The case is EPSA certified, so it’s what its commonly called a supercompressor case. It features two different crowns: the one at 2 operates the inner bidirectional rotating bezel, and the one at 4 it’s used to change the time and date.
I love the tritium on this watch, it’s completely untouched and has aged to a creamy patina. The dial is in pristine condition, aswell as the case. It’s ready to be enjoyed by its new owner.
