Description
Breitling was a very different brand back in the day and this watch is the perfect representation of it. Breitling was the first watch company to introduce a chronograph caliber featuring a microrotor (caliber 11). This particular watch is the son of caliber 11, caliber 12. It beats at a faster rate than the predecesor.
It’s funky, sporty, colorful and unique. It usually comes with a tachymeter bezel, but this rare example has a pulsation bezel making it even more special.
The panda dial, which is mint, features two subdials (at 3 and 9) with no running seconds, but a 12 hour and 30 minute chronograph counters. The minute counter has red accents to better differentiate the 5 minute fractions and an orange square hand, matching the hour, minute and secods hand.
We would date this watch from the 1970’s, a period where funky utilitarian watches were on every man wrist.
It comes with a black canvas strap, that in our opinion, it adds character to the whole package.
